Transit buses could be single decker or double decker. Selection is basically done depending on the area of operation in keeping with regulations regarding the same. Also, transit buses are allowed to have two or three doors, depending on the local policies regarding the bus. In routes that are not in high demand, minibuses may also be used to ply as transit buses. This is a low cost method of operating transit buses.
When buying a transit bus, it is necessary to keep the route requirements in mind. A large, double decker bus may be in order provided the number of passengers justifies the same.
